THE GOAL:
1-0. 28’. Filipe Luis scores inside the box after a Wall with Fernando Torres.
Atlético de Madrid took the field looking to win from minute one and made the first intent very early. It was Griezmann who made two finishes, but his first shot went just wide of the post, and the second one was saved by the keeper. In the third red and white intent, Filipe Luis scored. A perfect play by the Brazilian, with a wall with Torres and, as if he were a forward, took a shot on target. The second goal in the current League of the left-back after the one he scored in Málaga and that opened the score for our team.
A little later, Torres could have scored, but his shot crashed on the post, Filipe tried again but Rulli saved, and in the final stretch of the first half, Carrasco and Filipe had two chances to score that were saved by the Argentinian keeper. In the second half, there was red and white control and the chances came in dribs and drabs, but were clearer, like the one from Correa in the 81st that went wide. And the keeper saved another shot by Giménez on 88 minutes. The fifth consecutive win by the slightest of margins to assure the third position.
