Felipe: “I’m very happy to play for a big club, it’s a dream come true”
The Brazilian was welcomed by our President Enrique Cerezo during an event at our stadium on Thursday.
Felipe Augusto de Almeida Monteiro was unveiled as a new Atlético de Madrid player at the Wanda Metropolitano Auditorium on Thursday. The centre-back was accompanied by club president Enrique Cerezo, vice president Antonio Alonso and legends Julio Orozco and Iselin Santos Ovejero.
Enrique Cerezo welcomed the Brazilian to our club.
“Our new player is an experienced defender. He’s versatile and has leadership skills, as well as being fast and strong on the ball. He’s an extraordinary signing for Simeone’s team,” our president said.
Felipe spoke afterwards, claiming to be very happy about the move.
“I’m here to complete a great season, to help Atlético de Madrid and do everything necessary so that everything goes well. I’m very happy to play for a big club. It has always been my dream,” the centre-back said.
Finally, Enrique Cerezo presented Felipe with his new shirt, with number 18 on the back.
