Diogo Jota is now an Atlético for the next five seasons
The 19-year-old player scored 12 goals in the Portuguese League last season.
Diogo José Teixeira Silva, Diogo Jota, is now an Atlético player. The club has reached an agreement with Paços de Ferreira for the signing of the 19-year-old U21 international Portuguese player for the next five seasons.
The winger comes to Atlético de Madrid after finishing a great season in the Portuguese League in which he scored 12 goals and was named best young-player of the competition. The winger was very satisfied with his arrival: "Being part of a club as big as this one makes me feel proud."
For his part, José Luis Pérez Caminero, Sporting Director of the club, praised the conditions of the new red and white player. "He is a young player, very fast and vertical, carries the ball very well and has a great outrun. Diogo has a great projection and stands out for his one-on-one and his versatility, because he can play in several positions," he noted.
The footballer will begin to train with the first team on Thursday, 7th July, in Majadahonda.
