Diego Costa: "I want to help the team"
Diego Costa is back! He was officially presented as an Atlético player in front of 25,000 fans.
He's back. On 31 December in the Wanda Metropolitano, Diego Costa was welcomed as an Atlético de Madrid player. He will wear the number 18.
"I want to thank the club for all the hard work they did to be able to bring me back," Costa said. "From the heart, thank you."
Club President Enrique Cerezo was delighted to welcome Costa back to the club.
"The footballer who's here today doesn't need a presentation because Atlético is his home. Today, we're giving the best possible welcome to an amazing forward, a wonderful person and a great friend: Diego Costa," Cerezo said. "My dear friend, welcome to what will always be your home."
Costa has defended the Atlético shirt in 134 official matches and is excited to wear the red and white jersey once again.
"I want to help the team and score lots of goals."
