The match at the Sanchez Pizjuán showed two teams that fought for the win from the beginning, with clear chances for our team, especially in the first half. Griezmann from a free-kick and Gameiro both warned Rico, but the clearest one was for Correa, who kicked out a shot after a good collective play inside the box.
Sevilla came out strong in the second half and had its chances at the beginning, like Nasri's shot to the post and a header by Vitolo at close range that Oblak cleared with difficulty. But Simeone decided to make some changes in the game with the substitutions in the squad to make it dangerous again. Griezmann, with a semi bicycle kick, almost scored and a little later it was Filipe Luis the one who shot on goal but Rico saved his drive. N'Zonzi took advantage of an opportunity in 73’ to put Sevilla ahead. Godín almost tied on 88 minutes, when we had 10 men on the field after Koke's sending off, but Rico saved it. First defeat of the season, but the team gave its all throughout the game.
