Atlético de Madrid came out well in the derby against Real Madrid and Saúl had the first chance to open the score but his shot went wide almost touching the post. Oblak had to intervene immediately after that and Real Madrid was the first to be lucky to score because the free-kick touched the wall to deflect the trajectory and go to the back of the net.

In the second half, Atlético began dominating the game and with a couple of good opportunities to tie, but Navas saved a shot by Griezmann and the one by Carrasco went wide by little. A penalty meant the 0-2 and a few minutes later Ronaldo decided the game in a counter attack.
