GOAL:
0-1 (40’). Godín finishes a foul kicked by Gabi.
Second win of the pre-season after beating Tottenham Hotspur (0-1) in the International Champions Cup played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground of the Australian city. A lonely goal fromDiego Godín in the final stretch of the first half was deciding to add another victory.
In the first minutes, the English team had the control of the game, enjoying clearer chances with two shots to the woodwork from Lamela and Janssen. The players got to work and in the final stretch of the first half, a foul masterfully kicked by Gabi to the centre of the area, headed back by a defender and Godín would take advantage of this to put our team ahead.
In the second half, Tottenham also had clear plays to score, but Oblak came into action and with several top-notch saves would avoid the tie and would be chosen Man of the Match. Our next match will be on Sunday at 06:00 (CET), against Melbourne Victory.
