GABI, RAUL, KOKE AND MANQUILLO WORE NEXT SEASON’S NEW SHIRT

"We’re proud to represent this shirt"

The players highlighted as an objective to keep their identity and assured the support of the fans is and will be the team’s biggest drive.

Gabi, Raul, Koke and Manquillo were the players responsible of presenting before the press the new shirt that our team will wear next season 2014-15. A renewed and inspired shirt worn by 1975 legends such as Luis Aragonés, Adelardo, Irureta, Gárate or Ayala, among others, when we conquered the Intercontinental Cup, beating Independiente de Avellaneda.

"We’re proud to represent this shirt, even more as a home-grown player. We’ll give our all at every training, every game. We’re not going to change our philosophy, which has led us here. We’ll take it game-by-game", said Javi Manquillo, looking forward to next season.

We prepare the matches as if they were finals and we’ll do the same next year

Gabi, the captain also focused on the future and pointed out that the aim is to "Maintain the identity the team has had. This is the greatest title we’ve won this season, other than the League. Maintaining an identity, being convinced of what we do and keeping on competing with people with a larger budget but I believe with less enthusiasm than us".

Another of the team’s captains, Raúl García, the player from Navarra, explained, "The year should be approached without thinking beyond the next match, because it has served us well. It’s a philosophy that we have, we prepare the matches as if they were finals and we’ll do the same next year".

You fill with pride when you see your fans singing to you, you have no words

Koke also wanted to talk about the Atlético family. "The fans have always been with us. You fill with pride when you see your fans singing to you, you have no words. You see that you have given everything in the field and they give everything outside of it. We ask of them to keep doing the same thing and we’ll continue to give our all in the field, as we always do".
