Bayern Munich will be our rival in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The first leg match will be played at the Vicente Calderón and the second leg at the Allianz Arena.
The German team is the current champion of the Bundesliga. In the current season, the squad managed by Pep Guardiola leads the table with 7 points over Borussia Dortmund.
The German squad is one of the most historic in the Champions League, since it has managed to lift up to five European cups. Its last European win came in 2013, when they beat Borussia Dortmund in the Wembley final.
Bayern Munich finished first in the group stage with 5 wins and only one defeat. In the last 16, the German team eliminated Juventus (6-4 aggregate) in the extra-time. In the quarter-finals, Benfica was the rival of the Germans. After winning 1-0 in the match held at the Allianz Arena, Guardiola's team closed the qualifying round by tying to two at the Da luz stadium.
Our only match against the German team was in the 1974 Champions League final.
