Tiago Cardoso Mendes has been successfully operated of the tibia fracture suffered this Saturday in the League match against Espanyol. The player was taken to Majadahonda's FREMAP Hospital and underwent surgery on Sunday morning.

The Portuguese suffered a hard blow to his right leg on 30 minutes of the match against Espanyol and was substituted by Yannick Carrasco. Tiago was taken by ambulance to Majadahonda's FREMAP Hospital where he underwent radiological testing that determined the extent of his injury. The medical report detailed how our player suffered a “non-displaced fracture to the middle third of the right tibia.”

On Monday morning, Tiago has undergone a surgical intervention where he has had an “intramedullary nail placed in the tibia to ensure the bone better and more strongly, which also allows a better use without a cast," a new medical report informs after the surgery.
