Those who started the derby complete a regenerative session

J.A. Reyes and Diego Costa don’t train with the group

The footballers who started the match against Real Madrid held a regenerative session at the Majadahonda Sports Complex. After a chat with the entire squad in the dressing room, which is usual the day after fixtures, the team was divided into two. On the one hand, those who were starters headed to the gym and then received physiotherapy treatment. Those who are injured, such as Agüero, Mario Suárez, Raúl García, as well as those who received knocks during the derby, Reyes and Diego Costa, did not train.

Six Atlético de Madrid B players participated in the first squad session. In addition to goalkeeper Andrés were César, Jiménez, Vítor, Abel and Joseph. To begin, Emilio Álvarez, the goalkeeping coach, did specific work with Joel and Andrés. The rest of the group, Antonio López, Domínguez, Borja, Koke, Juanfran, Godín and Alberto Perea, together with the lads from the reserve squad, carried out a possession drill with goalkeepers. After this, they worked on one-on-one and two-on-two finishing drills and wrapped things up with small-sided 4v4 games with keepers. The practice lasted approximately an hour-and-a-half.
