The Champions League is back!
Our team faces the first round of the European premier club competition. This Tuesday, 13th September at 20:45 the ball will roll again. The Dutch PSV will be our first rival in the group stage.
We are counting the hours for the start of the Champions League. The first rival of Simeone’s players will be PSV, the current champion of the Dutch Eredivise. The rest of the teams that make up group D are Bayern and the Russian Rostov.
The Philips Stadion is hosting this Tuesday at 20:45 the first fixture of the Champions League between PSV and our team. A pitch and a rival that we know very well since last season we played them in the last 16. Both in the first and in the second leg, the result was 0-0 and an agonising penalty shoot-out in the Vicente Calderón sealed our pass to the next round. In 2008, our team also beat the Dutch team by 2-1 and 0-3.
Cocu’s team beat Nec Nimegapor by 0-4, the same result that we had at Balaídos against Celta de Vigo after a double by Griezmann, and goals by Koke and Correa.
