Diego Pablo Simeone appeared at the press conference prior to the fixture that will confront our team with Real Sociedad: "I hope to play an important game tomorrow with a rival that has very good offensive footballers and they will demand that we begin with an important and high intensity."

One of the names of the press conference was that of Mario Mandzukic, absent from today’s training due to some discomfort in the ankle: "Mandzukic is a key player for us. He has scored 20 goals in the League and against Leverkusen he played over 80 minutes with one leg and an incredible commitment to the team. He is not going to play tomorrow, but we are waiting for him to return to take his place."

Simeone also assessed the battle for the third place that our team has with Valencia and Sevilla: "We know that our League is still that of Valencia and a spectacular Sevilla. We are going to have to live each match as if it were the last. It is the only way to reach the amount of points required to end third."
