Diego Pablo Simeone stressed the importance of the match against Real Madrid: "I always insist that words do not count for much before a game. The only thing that matters is that when the match starts, we're prepared to play the game we need to."

Atlético's coach emphasised the potential of Ancelotti's team: "We're very respectful to all our rivals. We know that we're facing a great team, with excellent players and a grand coach. With our characteristics and our ideas, we'll try to take the match where we want to."

Simeone also said, "Tomorrow, Mandzukic and Griezmann will play," and stressed the importance of maintaining their style: "Everyone has their own style of play. You may like it or not and football is beautiful because you can win in different ways. We seek the most appropriate way based on the characteristics of my players and the history of Atlético de Madrid. When I arrived, I said I wanted to play like how Atlético has played historically. A fighting, intense team, and hopefully, we never change that."
