Simeone: "We hope that the Calderón responds"
Atlético’s coach was happy to compete in the League again in front of our fans in a match that will be hard and intense.
The Argentinian coach, Diego Pablo Simeone, attended the media prior to the match against Eibar and was eager to play a League match again in our Stadium to fans that always respond. The game against the Basque team will be special for Simeone, it’s his 100th game in the League with the team. Although to him, statistics are not the important thing, but facing tomorrow’s duel in the best possible way. "The truth is that I never stop and think about what might happen in time, we live day-to-day. Tomorrow’s match is very important for us. It’s the first game at home, where we need to do things well, and obviously, the responsibility to keep growing. Stopping now to look at statistics, numbers or real situations is not something I think is good. Right now, we only want to work on the match against Eibar, they will be a hard team, that relies on what they do, very direct, with a good set piece and very intense in the midfield", he expressed.
Raúl García has earned it, with work and perseverance
The Spanish national team’s call for Raúl García has not surprised Simeone, a hardworking player who has earned everything that’s coming to him. "Not discovered him. I’m convinced that Raúl has always worked very well on the teams he’s been in. Probably, with the team’s growth in the past three years, he’s also grown. He’s earned it, with work, perseverance and with the quality that he has. He’s given us the possibility of putting him in different places, and for a coach, that’s always positive.
