Simeone: “We broke the siege with counterattacks”

Diego Pablo Simeone appeared in the Pressroom of Anoeta at the end of the match. Atlético’s coach assessed the return of Koke: "Koke, as we always say, is a very important player for us because tactically, he greatly balances for us any situation in the midfield, be it offensive or defensively. On his return, he did an important job and made us happy because he has finished well."  

In addition, our coach analysed the match, which ended with a red and white win: "We always know that when you come to this field it's difficult. It’s a very competitive team that becomes stronger when it’s losing, especially against major teams, and responds in an emotional way to the game. In the second half, it was hard for us to get out of the danger zone. When we had five in the midfield we could use the counterattack better with Torres, Griezmann and Carrasco and we were able to break the siege."
