Simeone on Wednesday previewed the following day’s Spanish Super Cup semi-final clash against Barcelona.
“We’re aware of Barcelona’s strengths. They play an offensive style of football. We’re in good shape and I’m sure tomorrow’s game is positive for us. Facing the world’s best teams makes you stronger. The Spanish Super Cup is a chance for us to grow and compete for important prizes. We know our fans are excited,” the Argentine said.
Trippier also shared his thoughts ahead of the match.
“We’ve got a big task in front of us tomorrow. We have to listen to the coach’s tactics to try to earn the result we want. We know that Barcelona are a fantastic team, one of the best in the world. But we’ve got to think about ourselves, we’ve earned fantastic results recently, so we’re confident,” our right-back said.
