Simeone: “The group is doing well; they're very excited”
Diego Pablo Simeone appeared before the media at the BayArena, before the training session prior to the match against Bayer Leverkusen. He said he'll wait to see how Arda Turan is doing.
As to how he sees the team for this game, the Argentinian coach said that “The group is doing well. They're very excited. I think the fixture in Vigo was not good, but before and after that one, the matches were very constant. Tomorrow we need the maximum concentration and to have a clear idea of the game we have to play. Bayer Leverkusen is a very brave team which offensively, thinks bravely and that makes it dangerous. Most of all in qualifying rounds, where you heavily depend on goals.”
The player who accompanied Simeone was Saúl, who noted Bayer’s capacity to pressure its rival’s game. “We already know how Bayer plays. It’s a competitive team that can leave gaps and we have to make the most of them. Playing this kind of games makes me really happy. To wear Atlético de Madrid’s shirt in the Champions coming from the ranks is very important to me," he concluded.
