Diego Pablo Simeone assured before the media that the team did, “a great job, it was a very complicate fixture. It cost the players effort and ambition to achieve a very important result. This takes us to where we wanted to, with five rounds to go, there are five finals to go, and we’ll play them as such”.

Now we focus on the final with Elche, which is the next one we have

Regarding the season’s final stretch, he said, “now we focus on the fixture with Elche, which is the next final we have. We won’t think on anything else but to prepare it and rest so the players get to it in good conditions”. Furthermore, he reminded the fans, “From now on I change what I said of match-by-match, for all of the Atléticos now we play final-by-final”.

Focusing on Getafe’s fixture, he recognised, “everyone put in a lot of effort, with humility and the support of people away from home the victory was achieved. I imagine next Friday with a full stadium and prepared to play one of the remaining finals”.

Lastly, he reminded, “I always said we depended on ourselves and I stick to it. This situation depends on the ambition, the enthusiasm, the effort, the work and most of all the team’s humility”, he ended.
