THE ARGENTINIAN COACH ANALYSED THE SECOND LEG MATCH OF THE QUARTER-FINALS

Simeone: "Being an Atlético is being persistent and competitive"

Our coach answered the media in the VIP Box of the Vicente Calderón stadium prior to this Wednesday’s fixture against FC Barcelona.

Diego Pablo Simeone appeared at the official press conference prior to the second leg match of the Champions League quarter-finals. The Argentinian coach said: "Being an Atlético is being persistent, competitive, not giving up and fighting against the difficulties. That is our strength, knowing that we have rivals that are better than us and that from this situation, we consider ourselves competitive to fight against them."

"The match is won by scoring one goal more than the rival. All the excitement, enthusiasm and everything that creates the atmosphere is fantastic. People will respond as they have always responded and us, on the field, will try to qualify," he explained.

Regarding the atmosphere that will exist at the Vicente Calderón, Atlético’s coach commented that: "You have to invite people to be themselves. I’m not going to be surprised to see the stadium as I see it because we are used to see the stadium as it will be in these kind of matches. It is clear that the game will be the one that we propose and the one the rival offers to us."
