Shanghai SIPG, last test before returning to Spain

Shanghai SIPG will be the last match of our team in Asia before returning to Spain to continue preparing for the beginning of the season.

After beating Sagan Tosu in the penalties in the last friendly, our team is facing the last game of the LFP World Challenge tour against Shanghai SIPG at Shanghai Stadium (at 13:00 CET, 19:00 local time).

Shanghai SIPG was founded in 2005 and is the runner-up in the Chinese Super League. Its coach, Sven-Goran Eriksson, is an old friend of our coach. The Swede coached Simeone in the year 2000, when he played in Lazio.

The Argentinian is eager to run into Eriksson again on the playing field: "We are very excited to play against Shanghai SIPG, a team led by Sven-Göran Eriksson, one of my coaches when I played." In addition, Simeone praised the qualities of the Chinese team: "Shanghai SIPG has become very quickly one of the most important clubs in China. I think that this game will be a good test for our players for the start of the League."
