Saúl: “Wearing this shirt and playing is the best thing there is”
Saúl Ñíguez answered the media after the extension of his contract until 2020 was made public.
The red and white midfielder noted that “it's very important for me to wear this shirt. I've been here since I was 12 and I've been treated very well. The people have looked after me since the first day. I'm thankful and have to work hard in the trainings to get to play minutes. For me, wearing this shirt and playing is the best thing there is.”
Regarding the objective of the team of finishing third, he noted that “we want to win and when a victory can bring you closer to the objective, it motivates you even more. We're going out to win the three games left, against Levante, Barcelona and Granada."
Saúl commented about the extension of his contract that “I've worked to try to achieve a renewal and be here for many years. That's what I've been working for since I started playing in the ranks. My intention is to stay here and that can be seen in my renewal. I'm thankful to the coach above all, who was the one to make me debut and has given me confidence. My hope is to play as many games as possible and be with Atleti for many years to come.”
