Raúl García rejoins the group work during Tuesday’s session

The ‘rojiblanco’ squad held part of the training behind closed doors

Atlético de Madrid returned to training with their minds set on this coming Saturday’s match against Barcelona at Camp Nou, a match that will be broadcast live on La Sexta and the Autonomous channels starting at 10 pm. The big novelty in Tuesday’s session was the return to the group work of Raúl García. The only player who continues to do alternative work with Óscar Pitillas is Mario Suárez.

To begin, the ‘rojiblancos’ had a half-hour of strength conditioning in the gym, then took the normal training pitch. César Ortiz, Noguera and Vítor were the Atlético B players who joined the first squad training. The Atleti footballers began with a possession drill with the group divided into two, while the goalkeepers did specific work with Emilio Álvarez. Afterwards, the players completed odd-numbered attacking-defending drills with goalkeepers and finished up the session with a 9-on-9 practice match plus keepers, although certain players headed to the dressing room and didn’t take part in this scrimmage.
