Atlético de Madrid flew to Baku on Monday afternoon in order to prepare for the crucial must-win Champions League match against Qarabag on Wednesday at 6 p.m. CET.
This will be our first official match in Azerbaijan, after the friendly we played in Baku in 2013.
After two group stage matches, Atlético need to win in Baku in order to get closer to qualifying for the next round of the competition. In the Champions League, Qarabag haven’t won yet and lost to Chelsea (6-0) and Roma (1-2).
However, in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the club is first with 19 points in 7 matches. In their last league match, they beat Inter Baku away from home.
