Mr. Enrique Cerezo, President of Club Atlético de Madrid, after presenting the contract extension press conference of Luis Amaranto Perea, had several minutes to respond to the journalists’ questions regarding current life at Atlético. The ‘rojiblanco’ chairman placed special emphasis on the importance of the upcoming Europa League fixture against Aris at the Vicente Calderón. “We have to win in any way possible on Wednesday against Aris. It’s an important match, the most important of this month, and we have to win to move forward,” he stated.
The Atlético President also lamented the game lost to Espanyol last weekend. “Sometimes we have to finish off the matches and we don’t do it. We lost and now we have to make up those points in another match,” he stressed.
The ‘rojiblanco’ head director stated that there shouldn’t be any concern about the absence of Álvaro Domínguez in the last squad list given by Quique Sánchez Flores as he considers him to be “a great footballer and a great defender, which he has shown many times here.”
