Our team earned an important 2-0 win at the Wanda Metropolitano against Villarreal. Morata, who scored his first Atleti goal, and Saúl were the goalscorers.

Atleti earned an important 2-0 home win on Sunday against Villarreal. Morata netted his opener for our club to put us in the lead, and Saúl scored the second in the dying minutes of the match.

A sunny afternoon greeted an upbeat Wanda Metropolitano after Wednesday's big win over Juventus. The away side had also played a European game during the week, thanks to which they qualified for the Europa League Last 16. It was Villarreal who had the first big chance of the game around the tenth minute, but Oblak was there to save us. Our keeper made a great save to deny Ekambi.

Morata answered with a left-foot shot that forced Asenjo to make a very good save. In fact, Simeone's team began to dominate possession and attack as the first half progressed, and a few minutes later, the goal finally arrived. Morata once again took a left-foot shot from inside the box, and this time managed to beat the keeper to get his first goal in Red & White. It was a great moment and it meant we reached half time in the lead.

After the break, our team kept attacking, especially through an inspired Morata. The Spaniard was substituted just before the hour mark and in came Diego Costa. A few minutes later, Thomas Partey came on for Lemar. Giménez had a good chance around the time, but his header was saved by Asenjo.

Diego Costa had a couple of good chances on the break to increase the lead, but it was Saul who scored the second just before the end of the match. Atleti earned three important points against a tough side.
