Miranda: “We’re used to big matches”

Joao Miranda analysed the Atléticos’ fitness two days prior to test themselves against Barça in the Champions qualifying round. “People ask why we play so long and the answer is because we are very well physically and we’re going to keep it up until the last match”.

Regarding the dangers their rival will in the Calderón, he guaranteed, “it’s important to stay together because Barcelona is a great team, you have to be careful with all of their players”.

Relating a possible pressure overload, Miranda was categorical “All the matches are important. We aren’t nervous, we’re used to big matches, we know our own strength”. Regarding this topic, he pointed out “we don’t consider being eliminated, we’re going to work on getting classified”.

Lastly, he admitted that the fans’ support “motivates us greatly, when the match gets complicated, the fans start to chant and we always push ahead”, he concluded.
