Lotina: “We made things very easy for them in the first half”

The Deportivo manager stated that “a goal would have gotten us back into the game”

At his post-match press conference, the head coach of Deportivo de la Coruña, Miguel Ángel Lotina, stated that “we had problems in defence and we made things easy for them, which led to the penalty against us and two goals. We weren’t sharp in either the defensive aspect or in creation with the ball.”

Deportivo’s initial strategy was, according to the visiting manager, to make them feel uncomfortable from the start, but we were unable to create problems for them and we made things easy for them since we were open and left open spaces in back.”

Miguel Ángel Lotina took the blame after the match, making it clear that “if we had scored a goal in the second half, we would have been able to get back into the game, but that didn’t happen. We controlled the ball more and they attacked on counter-attacks, but we were unable to convert that greater possession into chances.”
