Koke: "It makes no difference if we win on Saturday if in the end we do not meet the objectives"
The young Atletico player on the day of his 22nd birthday appeared before the media to give his first impressions on Saturday’s game against Barca at the Calderon.
Koke said in the press room of the Majadahonda Sports City that the barca game "will be a very important game because the top two teams in the league play. It is just another a game and the whole second half of the season is to come, although we know that to date it is the most important game".
The footballer admitted that after returning from Valencia "we have not though about the game because we’ve been doing recovery work. Tomorrow we'll see what the approach will be, although I'm sure we'll play a good game."
He also recalled that against Barca in the Super Cup Atletico put in two great performances. "We work to the max, we were closed, we robbed the ball off of them and played quickly on the counter," but commented that "on the pitch it is very difficult and we have to see how the game goes."
As for the possibility of being crowned winter champions, Koke is clear that "it’s just an anecdote, what counts is how you finish the season. It makes no difference if we win on Saturday if in the end we do not meet the objectives"
Finally , on the return of Leo Messi he stressed that "if he plays we have to be careful because it is the best in the world. But Barcelona has great footballers and we must be aware of them all," he said.
