Giménez, the Uruguayan centre-back analysed the match against FC Barcelona: "We didn't play a great game, but I think that the desire to win showed. We found the goal in the second half that we thought would give us a bit of clamness. Then Neymar scored an incredible goal that was a heavy blow. In the second goal, we could have done more by clearing the ball, but that is what Barcelona has, you leave a gap and they score."

For his part, Juanfran Torres said that "there are games in which everything goes great, like the one against Seville, and others like today, where some things don’t go as you want and the rival is so good it takes you to borderline situations and it’s not that easy to control it. We are reflexive and critical, us more than anyone, but always with our heads held high and thinking that things change by winning on Tuesday so things will look different on Wednesday."

Lastly, Diego Godín said that "I don’t like to talk about who deserved to win in terms of the result. It is what it is. They took advantage of the situations they had and we could not take advantage of some more. And that's it. There’s no need to justify anything. It is a football match and we have to keep going because the League is just beginning."
