OUR GOALKEEPER KEEPS BREAKING RECORDS

Jan Oblak matched Gabi

Our goalkeeper equals the Red & White player with 417 games played and is the eighth player with the most matches played in the club's history.

Jan Oblak continues to make history! In the first game of this 2024 played in Girona, the goalkeeper has equalled Gabi with 417 games played as an Atleti player, becoming the eighth with the most games played.

The Škofja Loka native joined our club on 16 July 2014 and made his debut in goal on 16 September of the same year in a Champions League match against Olympiacos in Greece.

During his time at the club, Oblak has achieved a brilliant record, winning LaLiga 20/21, a Europa League (2018), a European Super Cup (2018) and a Spanish Super Cup (2014).

Added to all these awards and achievements are these two new milestones: being the foreigner with the most appearances and the eighth player with the most appearances for the club.

Jan, who is also the goalkeeper who has defended our goal the most times, is now ahead of only seven other Red & White legends: Koke (608), Adelardo Rodríguez (553), Tomás Reñones (483), Enrique Collar (470), Carlos Aguilera (456), Isacio Calleja (425) and Juan Carlos Arteche (421).
