Hume: "Winning this trophy is what the team dreams for"
Atlético de Kolkata’s top scorer analyses the final against his former team, Kerala Blasters: "This is what you play football for, to play on occasions like this."
Ian Hume, one of Atlético de Kolkata’s key players analysed the most important game of the season in the Indian Super League, the final against Kerala Blasters: "I’m very excited about the final. Obviously it’s an important game. This is what you play football for, to play on occasions like this."
Hume, is the team’s top scorer with 7 goals and second in the championship. To score a goal in the final would be something incredible for him: "I love scoring goals and to score in the final would be a great feeling, but I’m just hoping that I can contribute to the team and to hopefully the success that we’re going to get if we perform the way we can. If I can add a goal to that, it’d be brilliant, if not and we get the trophy, then I guess the job’s done anyway. We’ll see how it goes on Sunday but we’ll definitely be pushing hard to get the result."
Hume, also noted the importance that this final has for the whole team: "We spoke about it in pre-season, imagine a Kerala – ATK final, but this is why you play football. You want to be the best, perform to your best. Winning this trophy is what the team dreams for.”
