Gabi: "I trust in this team to advance"
Atlético’s midfielder valued the match and our team’s options to advance to the quarterfinals.
Gabi assessed the game as follows: "It has been a very, very complicated fixture. Bayer has played a very intense game, with a lot of speed at the front, they have scored the goal and with the sending off, as a lesser evil, the 1-0 was good for us."
The midfielder acknowledged that the rivals "have played a very, very intense game. They were very comfortable pressuring us and they have been better than us at that but we there’s still the second leg and we will try to turn it around. It is a difficult result but I trust in this team to advance."
For his part, Miguel Angel Moyá said after the match that "we wanted a better result but we have the second leg at the Calderon. We can face it with guarantees. The qualifying round is fairly open."
