WE MISSED YOU, FILIPE!

Filipe Luis plays his first match since fracturing his fibula

Filipe Luis played his first match for our team, after fracturing his fibula on 15 March during our UEFA Europa League Round of 16 match in Moscow. After the match, he spoke to the press about his return.

Nearly two months after fracturing his fibula in our UEFA Europa League Round of 16 match in Moscow against Lokomotiv Moscow, Filipe Luis returned to the pitch in our league match against RCD Espanyol at the Wanda Metropolitano.

"I'm happy to play again," he said after the match. "These minutes were important for me. My recovery was very good and now I need to get back into the groove of playing. It's a shame we didn't get the result we wanted."

Filipe slotted in with ease at his usual left-back position and the fans at the Wanda Metropolitano got to enjoy his runs up and down the left flank once again. He played 65 minutes and was replaced by Gabi.
