AT STOCKHOLM'S FRIENDS ARENA

Family of Atleti legend Henry Carlsson invited to attend Atleti-Juventus

The family of our Swedish legend, who played at our club between 1949 and 1953, will attend our match against the Italian side in Stockholm.

Henry Carlsson’s family will attend our game in Stockholm against Juventus. Carlsson, who played 102 matches for Atleti between 1949 and 1953, is the only Swedish footballer to have ever played for our club.

Henry Carlsson was born in Falköping on Oct. 29, 1917. He played as a forward and was part of our famous ‘Delantera de Cristal’ alongside Juncosa, Pérez-Paya, Ben Barek and Escudero. During his time at Atleti, Carlsson scored 36 goals and won two league titles. He also won the gold medal in the 1948 Summer Olympics in London.

His family will attend our first ever game in Stockholm. Koke and Saúl met Henry’s grandson Magnus Carlsson ahead of the match.

“Our family has Atleti in our hearts thanks to my grandfather. We know he’s a legend of the club and we’re very proud of it,” Magnus said.
