ITALY 0-3 ARGENTINA

De Paul and Correa, Finalissima 2022 champions

Argentina won the duel between the UEFA Euro and Copa America champions.

Rodrigo de Paul and Angel Correa were crowned winners of the Finalissima 2022 with Argentina on Wednesday after the Albiceleste's 0-3 win over Italy in the match between the Copa America and UEFA Euro winners at Wembley.

The midfielder started and played the first 76 minutes, while the striker, although not on the pitch, was part of the squad called up to prepare for the clash.

In this way, our two players won their second title with Argentina's senior national team, after having won the Copa América 2021 last July in Maracaná, and lifted a title that was disputed for the third time in history.

The first, in 1985, saw France beat Uruguay 2-0 in Paris, while the second, in 1993, was won by the Albiceleste themselves on penalties against Denmark in Mar de Plata. That match, which ended 1-1 after normal time, went to penalties (5-4), with our current coach, Diego Pablo Simeone, scoring one of the spot-kicks and playing the game from start to finish. Also, that Argentina was coached by Alfio Basile, who later, in the 1994/95 campaign, also took the Red & White bench.
