David De Gea and Domínguez return from the Under-21s, but do alternative work

Agüero, with the Club’s permission, doesn’t train, like the rest of the internationals

Atlético de Madrid continued to prepare for their upcoming fixture against Osasuna. The ‘rojiblancos’ practiced for almost two hours at the Majadahonda Sports Complex in a session that was missed by international players Forlán, Godín and Perea, in addition to Agüero, with permission from the Club.

Under-21 footballers De Gea and Domínguez, rejoined the team-work after taking on Belarus in Alcalá de Henares on Monday. They carried out alternative work, as they had both played the full 90 minutes with the national team. Pulido and Borja, who didn’t train on Monday after having played with Atlético B on Sunday, practiced normally today. Also practicing with the first squad were Atlético B players Iago, Míchel, Noguera, Atienza and Arfang.

The session began with aerobic work and then continued with technical-tactical work with small goals. Afterwards, Quique Sánchez Flores divided the group into two: one played a small-sided game with goalkeepers while the others did more conditioning. The coach then switched the two groups so that they could each do both drills. Later, they focused on crosses and shots on goal and finishing things up with a practice match on the half-pitch. Tiago didn’t take part in the game and headed off with one of the physical therapists, Esteban Arévalo.

The teams for the match were as follow: Joel; Valera, Ujfalusi, Pulido, Filipe Luis; Noguera, Assunçao, Mario Suárez, Raúl García; Reyes and Diego Costa. Facing them were: Iago; Arfang, Atienza, Míchel, Antonio López; Juanfran, Elías, Koke, Perea; Borja and Fran Mérida.
