IN THE MATCH AGAINST RAYO VALLECANO

Correa reaches 400 appearances as an Atleti player

The Argentinian striker has now reached 400 official appearances for our club after playing against Rayo Vallecano.

Ángel Correa reached 400 appearances as an Atlético de Madrid player on 31 January after playing in the match against Rayo Vallecano at the Cívitas Metropolitano. The Argentine joined our club in December 2014, coming from San Lorenzo de Almagro. A month later, Correa had to undergo heart surgery, which delayed his official debut with our shirt until 22 August 2015 in a league match against Las Palmas.

It would be the first of 400 that he celebrates this Sunday, making him the 12th player with the most appearances in our history. If we talk exclusively about foreign players, Correa is the second Atleti player who has worn our shirt the most times. Over almost a decade, he has distributed 59 assists and scored 74 goals, leaving for the memory the last one he scored at the Vicente Calderón or the 'puntín' in Valladolid without which we would not have won LaLiga 20/21. The latter title was added to a list of honours that already included the 2017/18 Europa League and the 2018 European Super Cup.

Successes that preceded the triple crown he achieved with Argentina, where he proudly represented our institution: Copa América 2021, Finalissima 2022 and FIFA World Cup 2022.
