HE MADE HIS DEBUT AGAINST LAS PALMAS IN 2015

Correa reaches 200 games for Atleti

The Argentine reached his 200th match in Red & White during Wednesday’s game in Leverkusen. He made his debut on Aug. 22, 2015 against Las Palmas at the Vicente Calderón.

Ángel Correa played his 200th game for Atlético de Madrid on Wednesday as our team took on Bayer Leverkusen at BayArena. The Argentine has reached the impressive milestone at just 24 years of age.

The striker joined our club in 2015, making his debut on Aug. 22 against Las Palmas at the Vicente Calderón (1-0). Correa was the last player to score at our previous stadium and was also key to our 2018 Europa League success, his first trophy as an Atleti player. The Argentine was a starter in the final against Olympique Marseille, and also contributed to our 4-2 UEFA Super Cup win over Real Madrid three months later by providing an assist for Diego Costa’s equaliser that sent the game to extra time.

Throughout these 200 matches, Correa has registered 30 goals and 31 assists. His performances for our club also earned him his Argentina debut in September 2015, during which he netted one goal in his country’s 7-0 win over Bolivia.
