Club Atletico Madrid and Volkswagen renew their agreement

The first team players received the new Golf VII 150hp TDI Sport R in tornado red. The most successful model of the German brand in its most sporty and comfortable car.

Club Atletico Madrid and Volkswagen Group renewed their agreement on Thursday October 3rd. The agreement was initially signed two seasons ago, making the German company the official cars provider to the club. Both organisation formalised the expansion of the alliance for another year from the VIP Lounge of the Vicente Calderon Stadium, before the usual delivery of the new car fleet to the first team.

The event was attended on behalf of Club Atlético de Madrid by their president, Enrique Cerezo, director Oscar Gil, the director and vice president of the commercial area Antonio Alonso, the director and vice president of social area Lazaro Albarracin, general manager, Clemente Villaverde, commercial director Guillermo Moraleda, and sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero, along with the Atletico players and their coach, Diego Pablo Simeone. From Volkswagen and Castellana Wagen Fidel Jimenez de Parga attended, national sales director of Volkswagen and Luis de los Reyes managing director of Castellana Wagen.

Enrique Cerezo thanked the confidence of the Volkswagen Group at Atletico Madrid "in one of the most exciting times in our history, in which the team has achieved significant sporting achievements and has established itself as one of the leaders of world football."

Fidel Jimenez de Parga used the presentation "to congratulate you all for the great results you're getting both in the league and Champions League. In this partnership we are uniting two entities with a brand recognised around the world and with a long history of success."

The new Golf VII is the most successful model of Volkswagen in their automotive history, returning to the market with a sportier version, in line with the spirit that our team conveys.
