The Stamford Bridge side are one of England’s biggest clubs, having won 25 domestic titles and six international trophies. They have won six Premier League titles (1954-55, 2004-05, 2005-06, 2009-10, 2014-15 and 2016-17), eight FA Cups (1969-70, 1996-97, 1999-00, 2006-07, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2011-12 and 2017-18), five League Cups (1964-65, 1997-98, 2004-05, 2006-07 and 2014-15), four Community Shields (1955, 2000, 2005 and 2009) and two Full Members’ Club (1985 and 1989). As for their international honours, they have won the Champions League once (2011-12), the UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup twice (1970-71 and 1997-98), the UEFA Super Cup once (1998) and the Europa League twice (2012-13 and 2018-19).
It will be the fifth time we face Chelsea FC after meeting in the 2009-10 Champions League group stage, in the 2012 UEFA Super Cup, in the 2013-14 Champions League semi-finals and in the 2017-18 Champions League group stage.
Thomas Tuchel’s team are currently fifth in the Premier League. As for the Champions League, they finished top of Group E ahead of Sevilla FC, Krasnodar and Stade Rennais.
The English club play their games at Stamford Bridge. Inaugurated in 1877, the legendary stadium currently hosts 40,832 spectators. It will be the fourth time we play there, having recorded a win, a draw and a defeat the previous three times. Our victory came on April 30, 2014, when we won 3-1 to secure a spot in the Champions League final.
