Benfica, Galatasaray and Astana complete our group
We will play against the Portuguese, Turkish and Kazakh national champions in the group stage of the Champions League.
Our team completes Group C of the Champions League with Benfica, Galatasaray and Astana. Against us, we will have hard rivals, each coming from winning their particular League.
Benfica is the team with the most titles in Portugal. It was founded on February 28th, 1904 and currently has in it showcases 34 Portuguese Leagues, 25 Portuguese Cups, 6 League Cups, 5 Super Cups and 2 Champions Cups won in 1961 and 1962.
The same happens with Galatasaray, since it is the team with more cups in Turkey. It is also the only Turkish team that has been able to be the European champion by winning the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Super Cup in the year 2000.
The case of Astana is somewhat different. It is the current champion of its League but it is the first time it qualifies for the Champions, after beating the Slovenian Maribor, the Finnish HJK and Apoel of Nicosia. It is a club of recent foundation (in 2009), but since then it has managed to win a League, two Cups and two Super Cups.
