Atlético de Madrid continue to get ready for the match against Real Madrid

Two hours of intense physical and technical-tactical work

The Atlético de Madrid first squad trained for two hours at the Majadahonda Sports Complex with intense and varied work. Just as in Monday’s practice, the three Under-20 internationals, Koke, Pulido and Borja González, missed the session as they’re in training camp with the national team for that age level in preparation for the World Cup in Colombia this summer. From Atlético B, Regalón practiced with the first side from the beginning, and Noguera, Batres, Vítor and Fer joined in later.

To start, after the habitual warm-up, the players did a ball possession game without goals, with the goalkeepers also taking part with the group. Afterwards, they played a full-pitch practice match. On one team were: Joel; Ujfalusi, Godín, Domínguez, Filipe Luis; Reyes, Raúl García, Assunçao, Elías; Alberto Perea and Diego Costa. Facing them were: De Gea; Valera, Perea, Regalón, Antonio López; Juanfran, Mario Suárez, Tiago, Fran Mérida; Kun and Forlán.

After this, they were divided into two groups. In one area the players did varied physical work under the orders of Jordi García and, in another, a small-sided game to work on pressuring the ball. After this drill, Raúl García left the session early while his teammates worked on crosses and finishing.
