Atlético de Kolkata is defeated by Mumbai City (2-3)

The red and white squad faced a hard battle against Mumbai City, having to equalise twice, but in the stoppage time, the visitors scored the winning goal. Our team, already qualified, await a rival for the semi-final.

Atlético de Kolkata was playing for the first place of the Indian Super League, since it had already qualified for the semi-final in the previous match. But the players of Antonio López Habas found an uncomfortable opponent, that got ahead twice and, in the end, scored the winning goal. 

Norde scored the first goal half an hour into the game, while our team tried hard all the time until Hume scored the equaliser on a penalty in the last minute of the first half. On the final stages of the match, Sunni Chhetri put the visiting team ahead on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute. And in the 90th, Arata Izumi tied a crazy game that eventually run away in the stoppage time with the goal of Norde.  

Kolkata will play against Chennaiyin FC in the semi-finals for the Super League title. The first leg will be played next Saturday, 12th of December at the field of Chennaiyin. The second leg on the 16th of December at Salt Lake Stadium, our team’s stadium, which will fight to defend the championship’s title won last season.
