Atleti beat Cardassar 3-0 on Wednesday to progress to the next round of the Copa del Rey. Lemar, Ricard and Vrsaljko scored the goals in Mallorca.

Our team wasted no time and began collecting chances early on. Lemar, Correa, Torreira and Felipe were all close to finding the back of the net, but the keeper made a string of fine saves to stop us from scoring in the opening minutes. However, 24’ into the game, Lemar finally found the breakthrough thanks to a good right-foot strike. We didn’t stop there, and as we approached half-time, Ricard netted a sensational goal in his first team debut. The Spaniard struck perfectly to give us a two-goal lead.

Atleti dominated possession in the second half whilst controlling the match. Simeone’s first changes were bringing Saponjic and Camello on for Vitolo and Lemar. The Spanish striker almost scored just after coming on, but the keeper denied him with an excellent save. Vrsaljko came on with 15’ to go and it didn’t take long for him to score. Torreira provided a fantastic pass and the Croat finished in style. The game ultimately ended 3-0 as our team progressed to the next round of the Copa del Rey.
