MATCHDAY 26 | MATCH PREVIEW

Atleti to host a defensively-sound Leganés

At 9:30 p.m. CET, our side will face Leganés in the Wanda Metropolitano.

A derby night against Leganés awaits in the Wanda Metropolitano. Kick-off is set for 9:30 p.m. CET.

Our side arrives to the match against our city neighbors in fine form. Our last seven matches have ended in a win and in total, we've scored 17 goals in those seven games. Most recently, our thrilling match in the Sánchez Pizjuán against Sevilla ended 2-5. Antoine Griezmann grabbed a hat-trick and is our top goalscorer in the league with 11 goals.

On the other hand, Leganés haven't won since 28 January. Since then, they've drawn three matches and lost another four. However, they sit comfortably in 13th place with 30 points. In our first match of the season against Leganés in Butarque, they showed their defensive resilience and held us to a nil-nil draw.

Ángel Correa, who spoke to en.atleticodemadrid.com, knows this match is an important one and hopes our side can get the three points.

"It’ll be an important match for us in the Wanda Metropolitano," he explained. "All of our fans will be there and without a doubt, we have to play a great match to get the three points."
