Atleti picked up three important points in the race for the Champions League spots as we beat Mallorca 3-0 on Friday. Morata (2) and Koke provided the goals.

Our team played well from the beginning, collecting several early chances mainly through Joao Félix. The Portuguese forward was close to scoring on different occasions. But it was Morata who put us in front from the penalty spot after he had been brought down inside the box. it looked like we would reach half-time 1-0 up, but Marcos Llorente provided an excellent assist for Morata in stoppage time and the Spaniard gave us a two-goal lead.

Simeone’s men managed their lead after the break, and the Argentine made a double substitution 10 minutes into the second half. Correa and Vitolo – who had a good chance to score just after he came on – came on for Joao Félix and Carrasco. Manu Sánchez and Morata would later make way for Lodi and Costa. Atleti didn’t slow down and Koke netted the third from outside the box with some 10 minutes remaining. Thomas Partey came on for Saúl in what was Simeone’s final substitution and the game ended 3-0 as we secure three very important points.
