MATCH PREVIEW | FC PORTO - ATLÉTICO DE MADRID

Atleti gear up for decisive Porto battle

Our team faces a decisive Champions League group stage clash in Portugal on Tuesday. The game is to kick off at 9pm CET at the Estádio do Dragão.

Atleti travel to Portugal on Tuesday for our Champions League group stage finale. Simeone’s men take on FC Porto at the Estádio do Dragão at 9pm CET – a game we have to win if we are to qualify for the last 16. Moreover, if AC Milan beat Liverpool at San Siro, our team will have to win its match by one more goal than the Italians. Both fixtures will be played simultaneously.

FC Porto have proven they are a very tough side to beat. In fact, they’re unbeaten in the Portuguese league (11W, 2D), which they lead after 13 match days. In the Champions League, they’re currently second of Group B with five points – one more than us. Tuesday’s game will be their third at home, where they’ve beaten AC Milan and lost to Liverpool.

This will be the fifth time we play at the Estádio do Dragão, where we last played on Oct. 1, 2013. We won 2-1 on the night thanks to the goals from Godín and Turan.
