Atleti earned another key LaLiga win on Sunday as we beat Cádiz 4-2 on the road. Suárez netted a brace while Saúl and Koke provided the remining goals.

Saúl and Suárez had early chances in what was a strong start to the game – and we eventually found the goal… And what a goal it was. The Uruguayan netted an exceptional free-kick just before the half hour mark to put us in front. However, it didn’t take long for the hosts to equalise as Negredo scored a fine goal. With 1-1 on the scoreboard, the final minutes of the first half were crazy. Saúl put us in front once again 44’ in and then Cádiz were initially awarded a penalty, but it was overturned following a VAR review. We reached half-time after that.

Vrsaljko came on for Torreira at the break as we enjoyed a positive restart. Suárez scored again to make it 3-1, this time from the penalty spot after Lemar was brought down inside the box. Simeone made two more changes one hour in – this time Lemar and Joao Félix made way for Lodi and Correa. Atleti were controlling the game, but Cádiz unfortunately scored again 70’ in. Negredo, once again, netted the goal for the hosts. Šaponjić came on for the home side and his team began to look for him in the air. Oblak had to pull of a fantastic save to deny the Serbian’s header before Kondogbia and Herrera came on to strengthen our midfield. Saúl and Suárez were taken off. As the hosts looked for the equaliser in the dying minutes of the match, Koke scored our fourth goal of the evening to make things 4-2.

Atleti pick up another three key points in LaLiga.
