Atleti earn a 1-1 draw against leaders Barcelona

Our team earned a 1-1 draw against Barcelona at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday. Costa scored for our team but Dembele equalised for the away team in stoppage time.

Atleti earned a 1-1 draw at the Wanda Metropolitano against LaLiga leaders Barcelona on Saturday. Diego Costa put our team in the lead in the 80th minute, but the Catalan side equalised in stoppage time through Dembele.

The match was preceded by the biggest mosaic in our club's history. After the ball started to roll, Barça tried to dominate posession, whereas our team looked dangerous on the break. A fast counterattack by Griezmann, Rodrigo and Lemar was our team's first chance.

However, there were no big chances in the first half. An injured Sergi Roberto was substituted by Rafinha at half-time for the away side. Our team was close to taking the lead around the 60th minute, when a great play by Griezmann was followed by a cross towards Diego Costa, and our striker was inches away from making contact with the ball.

The match progressed and neither team was able to take the lead. But good things come to those who wait, and in the 80th minute Diego Costa headed the ball into the back of the net following a corner. The Wanda Metropolitano erupted. Our team was ten minutes away from getting a very important win. But in front was Leo Messi and his team, and Dembele equalised for the Catalan side in stoppage time.
